Getting back on Track

I've been off for a while, a lot of things have been going on around in my 'real life' that I am only beginning to realize how much I'm behind.

There are new projects on the horizon, but still the prospect of having only ONE is grim so I am determined to keep striding for the better. Since I started consulting and developing for the food service and entertainment industry there has been a lot of clout about how to manage all the information and still present a reliable trustworthy business and also have our design department up to date; tough work I can tell you, and a lot of effort, time and a bit of money even, but determined we are to fulfill our clients every need favorably and even direct them and open their eyes to new and radical ideas, which is what we are all about and something I am personally committed to do.

It has been said that "Luck Favors the Prepared" and it has been proven again and again, because the more you make yourself ready the more you'll be able to achieve once the situation ( and 'if' ) presents itself. To say this is common sense bears nothing on the true meaning of your actions, for the perfect situation seldom happens, so you have to adjust with the resources available and present at such time if it were the case...

What I mean by all this is simply that one cannot take little things for granted, little things like phone numbers, weather conditions, popular culture, common and current affairs, they will get you out of trouble, so pay attention to your surroundings and you'll live to see many opportunities come and most of them will have nothing to do with Luck.

It's My Birthday

            

                I am now 34 years old... OLD !

When I was 20,I thought to myself -I wonder where I'll be when I am 35... and the answer still eludes me.
Here I am, one year before that dreaded imaginary date, and I still live in the same house, I am still single, I don't have the same car or the same pets, I have gone through 5 computers since then, three desktops and two laptops ( all Macs mind you ) and I may have a bit larger wardrobe and two or three more wristwatches.
I say all this because back in 1991, I thought that by now cars would fly, and that I could have videochats from my handheld, and that I would have traveled far and wide this great earth or ours, and that women would not be a mystery anymore, and that I would be married with two children, and that I would have a very busy professional life, and that my name would be up in lights on a marquee somewhere... all these things and many more, and as the deadline closes all I can say is that I lost myself along the way, and I can find ME.
So if you see a man that you think may be me, in his early thirties, about 92kgs. 185cms. tall with a good polite conversation, a nice laugh and very well educated and cultivated, then please contact me and tell me where IT was last seen so I can catch up to him and reintegrate my lost fragmented soul.

Swirls O'Fun in the Summer Sun !

I just can't get enough of these "fun with your digital camera" pictures, they are tons of fun in a little package. It has been hot for weeks now and it's time for the summer parties to start going and that also means new gear, and when I see a camera I get the feeling that we could capture the environment if it's sophisticated enough. There are those with a load of settings to adjust (most middle to high end devices do) and those that are press and shoot, but I can't fight the urge to try out a friend's new camera and see the awe in the final results, sometimes they are groovy and spunky but there are the few occasions where the camera's owner throws a hissy fit just for turning it on-you know the sort-, they charge at you with an onslaught of insults and screams about how they have been tinkering for the perfect setting for days and blah, blah, blah they think that makes them an expert in the field of photography.

Yeah ! ,  I can't get enough of those " look, It's a Swirl ! " kind of pictures: stir it up and mash it up and see what comes out, maybe it would not be so bad after all...

Time goes by so fast...

Like a jet aircraft, or a missile; sometimes I feel overwhelmed by the ubiquity of necessity, or to put it lightly, I can't seem to get enough sleep lately. I wish we could somehow slow down just a couple of seconds every minute, not more than that, it would be enough to finish the chores that automatically add up without me knowing ( I feel like I'm living on short New York Minutes ) ... Yes, I guess that I may be getting sloppy, I used to have time for everything, even to sit down and write a bit everyday on my journals but now I've lost the capacity along the way, and I didn't even notice...Do you ever feel that way?

I can't tell if it's because I have more things to do or I have become a victim of habit. I will make it my challenge to find out and get back on track.

NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION #3: BLOG MORE OFTEN

I woke up this morning and felt a bit overwhelmed because of the things that i must finish this week: podcast week script, pay for drywall and interior materials of the ballroom and detail plans of the tower of the Villa L'Anfora, begin to un-clutter and clean for remodeling of my room which will become the 'Spots Central' or as we lovingly and sometimes jokingly call it "THE MINDBENDER", fine tune details of the spots contest,sort my new books, arrange a new printer layout-I have 5-, scan tons of photos and log them, pay the notary public for some property deeds, setup my new PSP so that it can view blogs, send a care package to the Dawn & Drew show, arrange our inventory of shirts we are selling, setup online ordering for the tee shirts ( probably paypal ), define final art of tee's, review toy database to update-we have a mini toy museum which we will take online soon with pictures and other info-, clean desktop and site, relocate site temporarily to other room in the house while work is being done in my room-it would take about 3 weeks-, clean and bathe my dogs, tune my car, prepare final budget for the A+H house and present to client, organize supplies for model of A+H house, review finances...

and that should get me through Monday !

New Year, New Attitude

I hope that everyone embraces the opportunities that will come in 2005, remember that chance is ahead and not behind us no matter which way we are traveling.
Everyone makes resolutions for the coming year, and in that tradition I would like to encourage all to actually revise and apply yourselves so that they can actually be fulfilled.

So Heads Up, keep Cool, and always SMILE, it's a life saver.
